[K-MOVIE] Innocent Steps

Synopsis: My Little Bride's Moon Geun Young slips on her dancing shoes for The Innocent Steps, a heartwarming motion picture about innocent love and the power of dance! In this second film from director Park Young Hun (Addicted), teen star Moon plays Jang Chae Rin, a young Korean girl from the poor Chinese town of Yanbian. When her dance champion sister bows out of an upcoming national dancing competition in Seoul, Chae Rin poses as her sister and attends the event in her place. One problem: Chae Rin has zero dancing experience!

Co-starring in this winning romance is Park Geon Hyeong (DMZ) who plays her dance partner, Na Young Sae. As a former member of South Korea's national dance team, Young-Sae exudes professionalism, refusing to get involved with the film’s beautiful heroine. But as their practices continue, a bond between the two soon develops, as she learns not only how to dance from Young Sae, but how to love as well. But what happens when the villainous Jeong Hyeon su (Yoon Chan) enters the picture and tries to break them apart? Will their budding romance survive?

As with her previous hit film, My Little Bride, Moon Geun Young wins over her audiences with her loveable, wide-eyed charisma, but this time around, she brings with her a level of maturity that might surprise viewers. Critically-acclaimed for his performance in the local stage version of Saturday Night Fever, Park Geon Hyeong acquits himself well as the male lead, sure to win the hearts of female viewers with his dancing skills and winning good looks. Fans of old-fashioned love stories with a contemporary sensibility won't go wrong with The Innocent Steps, an entertaining romance that'll make you want to dance the night away!

Personal Review: 4.8/5. A superb movie and one of the best korean movies I've come across. Superb storyline further enhanced by superb acting and dancing skills from the leads make this a must watch movie. It's true that after watching this movie you feel like dancing too!

[K-MOVIE] Flying Boys

Synopsis: Love and dance collide in the hit coming-of-age film Flying Boys! Yoon Kye Sang of the popular group GOD makes his screen debut as Min Jae, a young man in his last year of high school who finds love in a most surprising place. Min Jae has long adored Soo Jin (Kim Min Jung of Bus Stop), who lives in the same apartment complex, but Min Jae fears approaching her because he's not sure he'll be able to take the rejection.

But Min Jae and Soo Jin are soon thrown together in the most unlikely of places: ballet school! A ballet teacher blackmails Min Jae and his friends into attending his class, where Min Jae meets the also unwilling-to-attend Soo Jin. A cast of oddball characters populates the class, and neither Min Jae nor Soo Jin any interest in actually learning to dance. But the experience allows them to witness some of life's small joys and minor defeats, and brings them closer to growing up...and perhaps each other.

Directed by Byun Jung Joo (Ardor), Flying Boys is an affectionate and winning look at teens learning to spread their wings and fly - in ballet shoes. Lee Jun Ki also acts in this drama, so for LJK fans, this is the drama for you!

Personal Review: 3.5/5. This movie does not really talk about the guys learning ballet, but more of how the guys grow up in their different environments. There are also certain touching bits in the movie though the female star could have been better with her acting and putting in more emotion to her role.

[K-MOVIE] Art Of Seduction, The

Synopsis: With a screenplay provided by Shin Jeong-Gu and Oh Ki-Hwan, this is a thoroughly modern romance in which sparks are certain to fly! The film centers on two characters with similar attitudes toward love and life. First up, there's Seo Min-Joon (Song Il-Guk, from Red Eye), a man who is living a double life of sorts. By day, he's a successful, well-respected architect, but by night, he's a Korean Casanova, whose amazing skills in the art of seduction are seemingly unmatched. However, one fateful day, he crosses paths with the beautiful Ji-Won, a woman who gives Min-Joon a run for his money, much to his surprise!

Son Ye-Jin, star of such films as The Classic, A Moment to Remember, and April Snow, plays Han Ji-Won, a private banker who is as proficient at her job as she is at seducing men. When she meets up with Min-Joon, she sees a prime opportunity to add yet another name to her long list of conquests, but considering the man's own talents in the area of romance, it seems that things aren't going to be quite as easy as Ji-Won expects! Who will come out on top in this hilarious battle of the sexes? Find out in The Art of Seduction, a charming romantic comedy, which features appearances by Park Joon-Gyu (Wet Dreams 2, Sex is Zero,), Noh Joo-Hyun (She's On Duty), Park Yong-Woo (Blood Rain), Hyun Young (Princess Aurora), and Ahn Seon-Young (Jenny, Juno)!

Personal Review: 4.2/5. A good movie with a good plot. It was pretty hilarious while watching both of them try to outwit the other. Ending could have been better though.

[K-MOVIE] Art Of Fighting

Synopsis: Jae Hee stars in this action comedy as Byung Tae, a cowardly high school kid who is scraping through life the hard way. His days are tormented by school bullies and are making his life a living hell. The Art Of Fighting is the feature length directorial debut from successful short filmmaker Shin Han Sol.

Personal Review: 3.3/5. A pretty good movie with a good plot. The initial part of the movie was much nicer than the back. The later part of the movie was too rushed and everything seemed to end too fast which blurred the end plot of the movie.

[K-MOVIE] A Millionaire's First Love

Synopsis: From Kim Tae Kyun, the director of Volcano High comes an amusing fish-out-of-water romance starring Hyun Bin from My Lovely Sam Soon and Lee Yeon Hee.

Jae Kyung is a spoilt rich kid and a bit of a slacker. He is in his senior year at high school, but rarely bothers showing up to class. It's not that he has no desire for success, it's just that he knows he doesn't have to study hard in order to get it. On his nineteenth birthday he will become a millionaire, thanks to his late grandfather's inheritance. But, the day before the big pay out, Jae Kyung's family lawyer discovers a hidden clause in the contract. Jae Kyung can only inherit his fortune if he graduates from Boram High School. Where? Exactly!

Boram is in a remote part of the Korean countryside, miles from Jae Kyung's cushy little existence. The pampered city boy has no choice but to up-sticks and move to this small rural community - where his credit card isn't accepted anywhere and he can't even drive his sports car! But, amongst all the country bumpkins and backward yokels, Jae Kyung meets Eun Hwan (Lee Yeon Hee) in whom he sees something different, something special, something which might possibly inspire him to change his selfish, arrogant ways and become a better person.

Personal Review: 3/5. Plot was shaky initially and only became clear halfway through the movie. The touching bits saved the movie but still it's another plain movie.
